Management Team
Dr Arun Subbiah - Chairman
Dr. Subbiah has over 25 years experience in the international oil and gas industry with over 15 years experience at Shell in E&P and strategic planning and economics in Nigeria, UK and the Netherlands. He co-founded Petro Russo Holdings (a 10,000 bpd producer) in 1998 which was sold for US$115 million.
Dr. Subbiah has a PhD and BSc in Physics from King’s College, London and an MSc in Management from the London Business School.
He is currently on the Boards of Diamond Gas and Red Rock Energy and is a co-founder of GOGE.
Dr Joshua Udofia - CEO
Dr. Udofia has over 36 years experience in the oil & gas industry. He is the former Deputy Managing Director of Shell Nigeria and was a Senior Corporate Advisor on Nigeria at Shell Centre.
He was the Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Petroleum Engineers during 1980.
Dr. Udofia has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham.
Past Board memberships include fifteen years as a Director at Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria. He has also held Director positions within Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Ltd, Shell Ultra Deep Company, Shell Trustees Nigeria and Clean Nigeria Associates. He also served on the Board of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group during 2003/4 and was honoured with a Doctorate Degree by the University of Makurdi for his services to engineering in Nigeria. Dr. Udofia is a co-founder of GOGE.
Mr Teck Soon Kong - Commercial Director
Mr Kong spent 31 years with Shell, including 5 years as advisor to the Saudi Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Resources. Following his retirement from Shell in 1996 he became the former Chairman/CEO of Nelson Resources and former COO/CEO of Nimir Petroleum.
Mr Kong has a BSc (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, University of London.
He is currently on the Board of Sukar Resources Plc, Dhow Services Limited, Sterling Resources Ltd and Noble Denton Group Ltd. Mr Kong is also a co-founder of GOGE.
Dr Syed Abedi - Technical Director
Dr Abedi has over 35 years international oil industry experience. He worked for over 26 years for Shell in various senior technical and managerial roles in Europe, the Far East, Middle East and North and West Africa, including Nigeria.
Following early retirement from Shell in 1999, Dr. Abedi was the founding MD of an Exploration and Production consulting company which has current activities stretching across UKCS, Europe, Middle East, Russia, West Africa, Far East and USA.
Dr Abedi has a PhD in Applied Geophysics from London University and is a former lecturer of geophysics at the University of London. Dr Abedi is a chartered geologist and a member of the Geological Society of Great Britain. He is a co-founder of GOGE.
Mr Nigel Penney - Finance Director
Nigel Penney has over twenty years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He began his career as a corporate auditor at Mobil Corporation. In 2001 Nigel joined PanAfrican Corp. as VP Finance, he supervised the creation of PAE as a joint venture company. Since 2003 Nigel has been an independent consultant to companies around the world in the area of finance and accounting.
Mr Abdullah Bukar - Engineering Director
Abdullah Bukar has over 33 years of experience in the Nigerian oil and gas industry with Shell. Since 1995, he has worked in the area of production management covering extensive work programmes in engineering, support and planning. Prior to his career at Shell, he gained offshore facilities experience at Woodside Australia.
Mr Bukar developed the Gas Master Plan which became the roadmap for putting out flares in the Niger Delta.
Mr Promise Egele - Development Director
Mr Egele has over 28 years experience in the Nigerian oil and gas industry. During his career, he has held management positions in Exploration, PE, Development and JV's Africa for Shell. He also has over 4 years experience in the Dutch North Sea.
A successful geoscientist, Mr Egele is a past President and Fellow of NAPE Nigeria.
Mr Innocent Ihebuzor - Finance Director, GOGE (Nig)
Mr Ihebuzor has over 27 years of experience with ELF Petroleum in the Nigerian oil and gas industry. He has held finance positions in Nigeria and overseas and has much experience of liaising with the NNPC, DPR, TAX, CBN and other government authorities.
